American Heart Association BLS Courses in Springfield, Illinois
These courses are held at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois and are open to the general public.
Course Description. This course will cover the concepts of high-quality CPR, 1- and 2-Rescuer CPR for all ages, use of an AED, differences between the age groups, use of a bag mask and choking. A 25-question written exam will be given at the end of the class.
Target Audience. Healthcare professionals who are required to have an official course completion card and who provide patient care in a variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. Applicable to RNs, LPNs, CNAs, MDs, dental and vision professionals and those students who are enrolled in a healthcare field of study.
Fee Information. Pre-payment is not required, however, it does enable you to receive your book prior to class. You can pay online, with a personal check or at the door. Please note, course completion cards will be held until personal check funds have cleared.
Student Textbook. If you pay your registration fee before class, you can pick up your textbook.
Be on time. Please allow plenty of time to drive, park and find the class. Late entries will be turned away 10 minutes after class starts.
Food. You may bring food with you to class, just ensure that drinks have a lid and food is easy to contain and not too messy.
Cancellations. Please let us know if you can't attend, even if it's last minute. We've saved a spot just for you!
No Shows. A re-enrollment fee will apply in the event of a no show.
Parking. The class location is in the Clinical Simulation Center, which is on the corner of First and Dodge Streets at 901 North First. Click HERE for a campus map. Please do not park in the small lot in front of the building, as those spots are reserved for patients. You may park in any of the visitor lots. There are also occasional spots on the street along First and behind the simulation center on the north side of the building.
